About

Dani Peñaloza is a writer and communicator currently based in Algonquin Anishinaabe territory in the Ottawa Valley. Born and raised in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Dani comes from Scandinavian and European ancestors on her mother’s side and Indigenous Mexican ancestors on her father’s. She has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and has worked as community reporter, podcast producer, freelance writer, and now, science communicator.

This blog will document Dani’s exploration of ‘play’ through the lens of being nearly-30-years-old, where she prioritizes and nurtures the best parts of childhood – joy, creativity, curiosity and wonder.
